The Wildlife Conservation General Administration (WCGA) is the Sudanese government authority charged with the responsibility for the management of terrestrial and marine protected areas in Sudan. The WCGA is responsible for implementing the Federal Protection of Hunting and National Parks Law of 1986 related to protection of biodiversity and habitats in Sudan, and for the management of National Parks including both Sanganeb Atoll Marine National Park and Dungonab Bay and Mukkawar Island National Park.
Founded in 1973 by Captain Jacques-Yves Cousteau, the Society has more than 50,000 members worldwide. Under the leadership of President Francine Cousteau, the Society continues the unique explorations and observations of marine ecosystems throughout the world that have already helped millions of people understand and appreciate the fragility of life on our Water Planet. Half a century of protecting water systems has expanded to embrace a wide variety of programmes to encourage communities to achieve sustainable harmony with nature as the Cousteau Label program.
Founded in 1996, the Sudanese Development Initiative (SUDIA) is a pioneering nongovernmental organization working with a broad cross-section of stakeholders for greater stability, development, and good governance in Sudan by reducing violence, empowering youth and advancing the role of the media and civil society.
