• The bird recorded at Sanganeb is the regional endemic species called Larus leucophthalmus (the White-eyed Gull) in breeding plumage.
  • There is a relatively low diversity of birds in this area, which is unsurprising given by the fact that Sanganeb is over 20km offshore, and has no emergent land except for the lighthouse and its associated piers.
